Meet TTOC’s 2023 Interns

“This trip made me realize how unknown things are and how much more there is for our generation to uncover.”

—Lorianna Calhoun

I’m excited to share my experience with my little nephew because he loves rocks and the ocean a lot so I would tell him a few things about different rock textures and how to tell if a rock was dropped by a glacier.
— Danny Cattron
By participating in the Comer Climate Internship, I think I’m more open to ask adults questions about climate change. Science is now a possibility for me to study.
— Taohidat Wahab
The more I talk about climate change, the sooner we reach out to the whole world and start opening their eyes to the problems that we are causing. I will mostly reach out to kids/teens because the younger generations have more time on this planet to spread the word and are more able to put themselves out there on this topic.
— Cemiyah Stubblefield
I always thought mud was just dirt, now I see that there’s more to it.
— Evan Walker
I think this trip changed my relationship with nature by making me appreciate it more than I already did. All the animals and plants we saw were amazing and interesting.
— Joshua Williams
I’m interested in finance and I’ve heard that I can use finance to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
