Making an impact

“Being a part of this program impacted me a lot and it taught me so many things about not just climate but nature as a whole.”

—Bryce Thomas, Gary Comer College Prep Senior

Eight Chicago teens spent their summer immersed in nature within the city and at a National Park. They developed a deeper understanding of earth's climate through community science, field research as well as arts and engineering. Reflecting on how a warming world could impact their lives and communities, they completed portfolio projects to explore future individual actions to take now and in their future careers.

An exhilarating experience

Cadillac Mountain was a new and exhilarating experience for me and my team.

We were able to gain new experiences and learn a lot about the different geological effects of climate change. We were able to find different details on the mountain to prove the area had glacial activity.
